Eva's destination was Middle Amana, in Iowa's Amana Colonies, as stated on her immigrant's trunk. Daughter Rosie ((Engel) Schirm write that Eva went to work in a kitchen in Homestead, Iowa, in the Amana Colonies, and that Eva's sister, "Kate," also lived there. Eva was the younger sister of Katherine Margaretha (Keller) Walter (or Walthers) of Johnson County, Iowa. However, neither been found to have been enrolled as a member of the Amana Society.
